Crown Trade – Satin Finish – RAL colour 9001 has the colour name Cream.
This RAL colour is in the Black and White hues category, part of the RAL Classic colour system.
Crown Trade – Satin Finish is a tough, durable solvent based formulation offering a washable Satin Finish for interior wood and metalwork.
Spreading rate:
Up to 16m² per litre on smooth surfaces.
Do not apply when air or substrate temperatures are likely to fall below 8ºC or when the relative humidity is above 80% during application or the drying period.
Do not over apply.
Note: Ensure previous coat is fully dry before application, colder conditions will extend the drying period.
Certain circumstances, such as lack of daylight, lead to white and very pale colours yellowing over time.
PREPARATION:
All New Metals – Lightly abrade to a bright (not polished) surface – excluding galvanised surfaces.
Wash with hot water and liquid detergent solution to remove oil, grease or any other contaminants, frequently changing the water.
Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Allow to dry.
Galvanised Metal:
Bright galvanised surfaces should be thoroughly degreased as per new metals, then pretreated with a T Wash.
Ferrous Metals:
Remove all millscale and surface rust back to clean bright metal.
Remove all residues.
Previously Decorated Metal Surfaces:
All surfaces must be suitably dry, and free from anything that will interfere with the
adhesion of the materials to be applied.
Remove all loose and failing or suspect paint.
Feather edges of sound paint.
Remove all dust.
Remove all rust.
Wash remaining sound paint with hot water and liquid detergent solution to remove any contaminants, frequently
changing the water.
Wet abrade to provide a key.
Rinse with clean water to remove all residues.
Allow to dry.
New Wood Surfaces :
All surfaces must be sound, clean, suitably dry and free from anything that will interfere with the adhesion of the materials to be applied.
Rub down with a suitable grade of abrasive paper and round sharp edges to a 1-3mm radius.
Remove all dust.
Timber with oils/extractives must be swabbed with clean methylated spirits, frequently changing the face of the cloths.
Treat any knots with two coats of knotting.
Fill any fixing holes, open joints and shallow surface defects with a filler.
Previously Decorated Wood Surfaces:
All surfaces must be sound, clean, suitably dry and free from anything that will interfere with the adhesion of the materials to be applied.
Remove all loose, failing or suspect paint.
Remove grey and denatured surfaces by rubbing down with abrasive paper.
Feather edges of sound paint.
Remove all dust.
Remove any defective putty glazing, clean and prime rebates, replacement putties must be allowed to form a hard skin.
Treat knots with two thin coats of knotting.
Fill any fixing holes, cracks and shallow surface defects with a filler.
Wash remaining sound paint with hot water and liquid detergent solution to remove any contaminants, frequently
changing the water.
Wet abrade to provide a key.
Rinse with clean water to remove all residues.
Allow to dry.
Coating System:
Apply one coat or two coats as required.
