Chalky Finish Paint – Formulated with water borne acrylic emulsion, pigments and extenders to provide excellent opacity and a smooth chalky surface feel.
Intended Use:
For use on bare wood, hardboard, MDF, plaster, brickwork and cement to produce a smooth touch flat matt finish.
But note: Not for direct application to metals.
Can also be used as a finish coat over existing wood and metal primers and paints.
For interior use.
Special Features:
Chalky Finish Paint is water based, so is quick drying.
It has low odour.
You can wash your brushed and rollers in water.
It has excellent covering power.
One coat is usually sufficient to completely cover previously painted surfaces giving a smooth chalky matt finish to an article.
Priming and sanding may not be necessary on some substrates.
Preparation:
Surfaces to be coated must be clean, dry and free from wax, grease and contaminants, so as not to spoil the finished look.
Application:
When using the Chalky Finish Paint, apply liberally and evenly with a synthetic short fibre brush or roller for a smooth looking finish.
For brush application, the primer coat may be thinned by mixing 5 parts paint, with 1 part water if necessary.
Coats – At least 1 coat over primed surfaces.
A minimum of 2 coats are required on bare substrates though.
Drying Time – Touch dry within 30 minutes, depending on temperature and humidity.
Re-coating Time – 2 hours minimum, depending on temperature and humidity.
Application Temp. – Ideally 15-25°C.
Do not use below 10°C or in conditions of high humidity.
Coverage – Approximately 13 sq.m per litre, 1 coat, depending on the absorbency of the surface.
Maintenance _ Wash with damp cloth.
Settlement – STIR WELL BEFORE USE.
Ensure any sediment is thoroughly mixed in.
Shelf-life/Storage – Many years in a cool, dry place if stored in original, tightly closed container.
Do not store below 5°C.
Protect from frost and extremes of temperature.
Clean-Up – Clean brushes and hands immediately after use with water.
